This wooden carving watches over the beaded jewlery, belts, postcards and other trinkets in the gift shop at the Wigwam village, a motel in Cave City.
After checking into the Wigwam Village with her family, Ann Soppeland checks out the concrete teepee that will be her home for the next two nights.
Seven Wigwam motels were built in the 1930s. Only two survive - one in Cave City, and another in Holbrook, Ariz.
Nathan Jernigan and his wife, Jeannie, have visited the Wigwam village for years. Now they bring their daughter, Michaela, and a group of friends from their church in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Nathan played with his daughter Michaela and her friends late on an October night. 'The kids absolutly love it,' he said.
