Moses, left, and Andy Slaghbaugh hold a goat steady for it to be pet on their farmland near Park City.

In the early morning light, a steer peers through a dew laden cobweb on U.S. Highway 31W south of Cave City.

Alan Steward, left, talks with his dad, Chris, as the wait for Steward to have an annual stress test performed on his heart at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.

Chris takes a moment to give some love to his male cat, Daisy, as Archie, left, and King look on, hoping to be the next in line to win his affection. Most of the animals owned by Steward are strays that have wandered in, or have been given to him by people wanting to get rid of their animals.

During a day of errands, Chris stops at Potter's Children's Home in Bowling Green to drop off a few clothes and give a donation. An orphan himself, Steward is aware of local organizations who help children.
