Vicki Smith (center), 47, is the owner of Bardstown Gymnastics in Bardstown, Ky., which is the only gymnastics place in town. Her days are usually filled with her other job, physical therapy in the Bardstown school system, and a hectic pace at the gymnastics place. Here, she is setting an example with her group of (from left) Amanda Harmon, Mollie Simms, Taylor Scott, and Alli Wood.

One of the many things that Vicki Smith, 47, does during the day is physical therapy in the Bardstown school system. Christopher Washington, 7, is one student who she helps with physical therapy. "He would have sat in that wheelchair that entire class if I hadn't been there," Smith says, explaining her job is to work on physical therapy through the classroom. Washington has been diagnosed as having FMD, functional and mental disability.

During the day, Vicki Smith, 47, does not have much time to relax, except for her occasional trips to the beauty salon and an occasional pilates class. Thursday morning, Smith went to Heads Up beauty salon for a haircut and some coloring while her daughters Kristy, 21, and Hope, 3 went down to the Balloon Lady's place to find a costume for Hope for Halloween.

As owner of Bardstown Gymnastics, Vicki Smith, 47, not only manages the gymnastics and teaches classes, but she also has to shop for snacks and supplies. Usually Smith drives the hour or so from New Haven, Ky. to Louisville, Ky. to shop in Sam's Club so she can stock up. She brought two of her seven children with her, Hope, 3, and Kristy, 21 (not pictured).

To teach her children responsibility, Vicki Smith, 47, makes her children pay some of their expenses. Her son, Kurt, 18, learns to pay his cell phone bill and balance his checkbook for the first time.

Washing laundry for a family of nine is a job in itself. Vicki Smith usually makes her kids do the wash during the weekend, but she does it during the week.

Before her kids go to bed, Vicki Smith often gets kisses and hugs and hears "I love you, Mom." Daughter Kendra says goodnight.

Vicki Smith, a wife, mother of seven, owner of Bardstown Gymnastics and a physical therapist often watches television or reads a book before going to sleep. She usually is the last in bed.
