After recess, Bardstown Head Start students make their way back to the gymnasium, located at the historic St. Thomas Parish. Bardstown Head Start helps low-income families serving 80 three and four year olds from six counties.

An advantage of Head Start is that parents are allowed to attend school with their children with many parents volunteering their service, some becoming teachers at the school themselves.
