A picturesque country trail becomes a glorified birthday ride as Jonesie plays host to a local children's party.

Jonesie's nostalgic western ride draws much enthusiasm from happy camera tourists.

"Gilbertslewogle," a thoroughbred racing horse, takes an early morning jog. Gilbertslewogle won two races this year earning $16,000 in winnings. He was purchased by owner Bruce Cambron of Nelson County for $2400. He is riden by excercise rider Franklin T. Huff. "I use to race but I got too fat," Huff noted.

"Horseshoe flossing" for healthy hygiene is a daily practice for Jonesie and his horse Jerry.

People must bathe -- and so must horses. Jerry, one of Jonesie's carriage ride horses, gets his daily blast.

When Jonesie calls his horses, 15 of them race over the horizon, clammering for his attention. "This shows you I got a way with horses," he says. "Horses are my life."

American icon John Wayne and Everett "Jonesie" Jones were the best of friends. Roaming the wild, wild west on horseback, they captured villains, defended the helpless, and commanded the respect of every man. Or so it seems. Bolivian born painter and artist, Rudy Ayoroa (right) captures the spirit of Jonesie's wildest imaginations on painted canvas behind them.
