
Bonnie Cecil chats with Myra Baker at a hot dog lunch at Old Kentucky Home Middle School. Cecil went to help celebrate the school's improvement on state test scores. She has been a member of the Nelson county school board for two years.

Bonnie Cecil helps care for 2-year-old Tyran Maddox at the New Life Center in Bardstown. Cecil, the executive director of the center, was named Nelson County Volunteer of the Year in 2002 after she gave a year's pay beck to the center.

Bonnie Cecil with Trappist Monks, Brother John Zuber Brother Thaddeus Pelechek friends of the late Father Paschal Phillips. In 1999, Paschal started the New Life Center and hired Bonnie as the executive director. (first time she'd seen zuber since phillips died.)

During a visit to Old Kentucky Home Middle School, Cecil recognized Christopher Mosgrove, whom she had taught in preschool. Cecil taught preschool for 29 years before retiring in 1998.

Bonnie Cecil says her home is her sanctuary. She is a Baptist, husband Sam is Catholic and their daughter,18-year-old Emma, enjoys worshiping at both services.
