Ferrell's diner waitresses Cheri Spainhoward, Elisha Buchanan, and Charlotte Collins take a break during the breakfast shift. Spainhoward and Collins are sisters and Buchanan is Collins' daughter. Combined, the waitresses have put in about 75 years of work at the diner.

"He's slowed down a bit," Garth's friend and editor, Tom Clinton said. Garth was often seen walking around town but as he got older Arthritis started to form in his knee. He now drives pretty much everywhere and rides a bike for his exercise.

"He's comes in four or five times a week, whenever the ladies are working," bartender, Bruce Haley, jokes while serving Garth Gamblin another seven and seven Thursday night at the local Elk's lodge. Gamblin likes to joke that he can get away with drinking as much as he likes because no one can tell if he is drunk or sober.
