Kay decided to sell the store that she bought and refurbished three years ago so that she can spend more time with her grandchildren and husband.EDT - LW



Owner of Kay Mart in Lowes, Kentucky, Kay Saltsman arrives at her store at 5:00 am everymorning so that she can do inventory and cook breakfast sandwiches. Saltsman bought, renivated, and has since managed the store since 2005.

At the pond beside her house, Kay Saltsman of Lowes encourages her grandson Mackenzie, 14, as he tries to reel in a largemouth bass. "Every Wednesday I pick him up from football practice until his daddy can come get him," said Saltsman. Mackenzie lives with his mother, but hangs out with his dad once a week. EDT - LW
